The 2024 NBA Draft is finally over after a two-day event that saw the first-round selections on day one followed by the second round today.

Second-round selections usually get buried under the first round on the same day, but this year’s format has given fans a chance to appreciate second-round picks on their own, with Jonathan Mogbo being the first selection by the Raptors.

This is a solid group of players, but the reality of second-round picks are that most of these players likely won’t get a single NBA minute in their rookie season. Some of them will never play in the NBA despite being drafted tonight. Teams are already filling up their roster with two-way deals and other undrafted rookies, meaning these second-round picks will have competition to overcome to secure roster spots.

The first five picks of the second round include genuine players who could have gone first round, with Kyle Filipowski falling to the second round being one of the biggest talking points. The likes of Bobi Klintman, Oso Ighodaro, Adem Bona, Nikola Durisic, and Melvin Ajinca are high-potential prospects, but it’s unclear if they’ll end up making the final rosters of the teams that selected them.
