The 2024 NBA Draft is scheduled across two days this year, with the first round taking place on June 26 and the second round taking place on June 27.

Pelicans recently deferring the first rounder to the Lakers as part of the Anthony Davis trade.

There’s been plenty of chatter regarding the Lakers possibly using one of their NBA Draft picks on Bronny James.

NBA Hall of Famer and former Laker James Worthy recently appeared on a segment of The Dan Patrick Show where he broke down a scenario in which the Lakers could use their first round pick in the NBA Draft on Bronny James.

“It’s just the way the league has grown, it’s a trend of what’s happening. Social media, load management, there’s so much going on, and I think LeBron stands in the same as a like Griffey Sr. and Griffey Jr., Gordy Howe and his sons, even if it’s just for a week,” Worthy said. “So I can see him maybe being on the Laker team or the G League, and then there’s a big national game coming up in a couple of weeks, they’ll pull him up and there you have it, son and father playing.”

“Bronny’s got a lot to prove. I think his combine was pretty good, so we’ll see. At 6’1 it’ll be a challenge but it can be done. We’ve seen others.”

While Worthy mentions the G League as possible destination for Bronny, it should be noted that his agent Rich Paul recently put out a claim that they were not looking at two-way contract option for Bronny. But even with a standard NBA contract, Bronny could still be sent down to the G League on assignment.

It’s no secret that LeBron James has made it clear that he would like to play in the NBA with his son Bronny James. He’s mentioned it several times. But by way of his agent Rich Paul, Bronny has also let be known that his NBA future isn’t necessarily tied to his dad, something he doubled-down on during the recent combine.

And it was at the combine that Bronny started turning heads in terms of NBA front offices. He had a rather tame freshman season at USC after missing the beginning of the year following a cardiac arrest scare in the offseason. He suited up in 25 games for the Trojans including six starts.

Bronny played a little over 19 minutes per game and averaged 4.8 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.1 assists with splits of 36.6 percent shooting from the field, 26.7 percent shooting from the three-point line and 67.6 percent shooting from the free-throw line.

Following the end of his college season, Bronny James declared for the NBA Draft while also entering the transfer portal and maintaining his college eligibility. He opted to remain in the draft at the deadline for underclassmen to withdraw. According to reports though, Bronny has turned down workouts from any other teams aside from the Lakers and the Phoenix Suns.
