As Saul “Canelo” Alvarez gets ready to make his return to fighting in Mexico on May 6th against John Ryder, at Akron Stadium in Guadalajara, Jalisco, the Mexican champion talked to Rolling Stone about several topics, including the words that former champion Juan Manuel Marquez had about him recently.

Alvarez expressed that he doesn’t understand if Marquez is jealous of him or what, given he has been very critical of him throughout his career, but says his words don’t affect him as he doesn’t think to much about them.

“It’s pitiful that a boxer like himself envies another Mexican and everything that I’m doing, but he knows it and can accept it,” Canelo mentioned about the former champ.

He then went on to say that people shouldn’t pay much attention to people like Juan Manuel Marquez as they’re head’s rotten, Canelo added for Rolling Stone.
