LA Lakers fans continued to take shots at former coach Darvin Ham. This time, the ribbing came after current LA coach JJ Redick offered a more candid opinion on the team’s offense last season.

The former NBA veteran dissected the effectiveness of that aspect of the game, and that had fans taking shots at Ham again, who has now rejoined the Milwaukee Bucks as an assistant coach under Doc Rivers.

Redick believes the Lakers had a “much higher efficiency” when running sets last year compared to random moves. According to Lakers reporter Mike Trudell, all signs point to the Lakers running a set offense next season.

That had fans shading Ham again.

Ham coached the Lakers for two seasons, one of which saw them make the Western Conference Finals. The other was a first-round exit to the Denver Nuggets who got the better of the Purple and Gold all regular season.

JJ Redick has already been vocal about some of the game plans he has in store for the LA Lakers. Now it remains to be seen if that yields results when he leads them from the sidelines next season.

Earlier, JJ Redick had called Anthony Davis the “hub” of the Lakers offense for the upcoming season. In another interview, he spoke about how the big would be the centerpiece of their offensive schematics this time.

“He’s going to be featured on offense no matter what. He’s going to be featured. He’s going to have the ball. We’ve talked about him being an offensive hub for us. To me, everybody says, ‘Oh, Anthony Davis is great on offense but his real value is defensively.’ His real value is just being Anthony Davis, and the fact that he’s an elite two-way player.”
Davis comes off a whopping season where he averaged 24.7 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.3 blocks and 1.2 steals on 55.6 percent shooting from the field. As LA looks for another title in the AD-LeBron James era, it will be interesting to see how their offense plays out with JJ Redick at the helm.
