Paddy Pimblett Calls Out UFC Champ Islam Makhachev: ‘We’re Coming, Brother!’
Paddy Pimblett, known as ‘The Baddy,’ has his sights set on UFC Lightweight Champion Islam Makhachev.
After breaking into the lightweight top 15 with a stunning first-round submission victory over King Green at UFC 304 in Manchester, Pimblett has officially caught the attention of the reigning 155-pound titleholder.
During a recent visit to Abu Dhabi, where he attended a UFC event at Etihad Arena, Islam Makhachev was asked about the possibility of facing the Liverpudlian rising star. Makhachev acknowledged Pimblett’s potential but suggested that Pimblett would need to continue winning to earn a shot at the title.
“When he [Pimblett] deserves it, why not,” Makhachev stated. “If he [wins] the next couple of [matches] and makes it into the top ten, why not? We need some new names in the division.”
In response to Makhachev’s comments, Pimblett took to social media to send a clear message to the lightweight champ. “Islam, we’re coming. We’re coming, brother, we’re coming,” Pimblett declared, signaling his intent to climb the ranks and challenge for the belt.
Paddy Pimblett’s rise in the UFC has been nothing short of meteoric, and his latest victory only solidifies his status as one of the most exciting fighters in the lightweight division. As he continues to build momentum, fans are eagerly anticipating the possibility of a showdown between ‘The Baddy’ and the ‘Dagestani Destroyer.’
