The news broke overnight that Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler was cancelled due to an injury to the Irishman.

The rumours have been proven to be true, with ‘The Notorious” long-waited return cancelled.

Its been just short of THREE years since McGregor competed in the Octagon, when he suffered a brutal leg injury in his trilogy fight against Dustin Poirier.

Dana White took to social media to announce that the new main event of UFC 303 would be Alex Pereira vs. Jiri Procházka.

Hours before the cancellation announcement Chandler had also taken to X formerly Twitter when he bizarrely wrote:

It seems a strange thing to post just before McGregor was officially pulled from the main event.

The UFC is hoping to make the McGregor vs. Chandler fight for either late August or September as per MMA insider Ariel Helwani.
