Oleksandr Usyk has slammed Jake Paul with a blunt verdict as he prepares for a huge title bout with Tyson Fury.
Usyk and Fury finally face off later this month in an undisputed heavyweight fight, with the fight having already been delayed due to an injury suffered by Fury.
As part of the promotion for the fight, Usyk has taken part in a video where he played word association. The Ukrainian had to fire back one or two word responses back when he was prompted by a word or name.
One of the names that came out was Jake Paul, to which Usky responded “stop boxing”. A tough piece of advice for Paul who has been attempting to build a career as a professional boxer amid a career as an online influencer.
Paul is also preparing for a fight, but one of a very different stature. The YouTuber will take on Mike Tyson in Arlington, Texas, live on Netflix this summer.
Interestingly, fellow influencer KSI was another prompt for Usyk, to which he replied “blogger.” KSI has also tried his hand in boxing.
Usyk on fight delay
Usyk has spoken recently about his upcoming fight with Fury, claiming he is still not convinced the fight will go ahead given his opponent postponed the bout in February due to a cut.
“I’m not 100 percent sure [the fight will happen],” Usyk has said. “I will be sure when I’m the ring.
“I will stand in one corner, Tyson Fury will stand in the opposite corner, between us a referee in a white shirt, and only when I hear the sound of a bell – that’s when I’ll understand that yes, the game is on.”
