Johnson, founder and president of the Defend the Dream Foundation, which supports low-income and inner-city youth, purchased the modern home in 2018. Six years later, he’s decided to put the property on the market.

Built in 2015 by Olson Defendorf and designed by Geschke Group Architecture, the stucco and brick home features five bedrooms and five bathrooms across more than 5,400 square feet of living space. The multi-level residence includes an office wing, gym, movie theater, and bar-equipped game room. The 1.5-acre landscaped grounds boast a two-level swimming pool with a waterpark-quality slide, fire-pit, children’s playhouse, and scenic views of the Hill Country.

Inside, the spacious great room features a living area with a linear fireplace, built-in shelving, and glass doors opening to a covered outdoor entertaining terrace with a built-in barbecue station and Big Green Egg. The adjacent dining area connects to a gourmet kitchen with quartz countertops, an eat-in island, and high-end stainless appliances.

Johnson, a Waco, Texas native, was the 15th overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft by the  Kansas City Chiefs. He earned four Pro Bowl selections, two All-Pro picks, and was named Pro Bowl Defensive MVP during his 13-season career. After a brief stint with the  Oakland Raiders, he signed a one-day ceremonial contract to retire with  the Chiefs in 2019 as the franchise’s all-time leading tackler. Recently, Johnson became the 25th Longhorn inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2023.
