Turki Alalshikh, advisor to the Saudi Royal Court and chairman of the Saudi Entertainment Authority,
is a big fan of boxing. He has repeatedly expressed his desire to organize a fight between two welterweight champions
– Canelo Alvarez (Mexico) and Terence Crawford (USA) in the United States.
In a recent interview, Alalshikh shared the reasons behind his desire:
“I believe that Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford are the two best champions in the welterweight division. A fight between them would be a historic event, and I want to bring it to fans around the world.”
“The United States is the birthplace of modern boxing, and it would be the perfect place to hold such a big fight. I believe that American fans would welcome this fight with enthusiasm.”
“I also believe that this fight would help promote the development of boxing in the Middle East and the Arab region. We are investing in this sport, and a major fight like this would attract the attention of many people.”
“I have talked to both Canelo and Crawford, and they are both very interested in this fight. They are both professional fighters and they want to fight the best opponents.”
“I hope that we can reach an agreement to organize this fight as soon as possible. I believe it would be a great fight for boxing fans around the world.”
Alalshikh also said that he is willing to provide financial support for the fight. He believes that this is a great opportunity to promote boxing and bring fans a historic fight.
